Covid Policies and Procedures

AndrewsCamps is both state licensed and accredited by the American Camping Association. We observe the comprehensive guidelines which they issue for operating safely during this period. We also adhere to orders issued by the Marin County Health Department.

What procedures do you follow each day?

  • No child or staff person is admitted to the center unless they pass CDC recommended Covid 19 pre-screening. This involves identifying whether the child or staff person has a fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, or sore throat. No one is admitted if they have had close contact (within 6 ft) with anyone who has a laboratory confirmed Covid 19 diagnosis in the past 14 days.

  • Campers are assigned to individual groups(“pods”). Each pod has 12 or fewer children. Each has its own staff support. Pods are not intermingled during the day.

  • All persons entering the center are required to wash their hands. Hand washing is required following the use of the bathroom and after any activity where multi-person equipment is used.

  • The center has multiple activity areas. Only one pod at a time is permitted in an activity area. When a pod leaves an activity area that area is sanitized.

  • Within each activity area, the games, exercises, and projects are arranged to allow for appropriate social distancing.

  • No one except staff and “day-campers” is permitted to enter the center.

  • Each evening the center is cleaned with special attention to commonly used games, equipment and surfaces.

Are campers required to wear masks?

  • Currently California currently requires all children over 2 years old to wear masks unless directed otherwise by healthcare provider.

What are the drop off and pick up procedures?

What about food, snacks, and beverages?

  • Health department guidelines do not allow us to prepare food or snacks. The drinking fountains in the center are turned off. Our daily schedule includes a lunch break and both morning and afternoon snack times. You should prepare lunch and snacks for your child. Include a marked water bottle and any other drinks you want them to have.
